Our 6 mm wood pellets are produced in Germany and were a test winner in the last test of Stiftung Warentest.
High-quality pellets are low in dust, odourless, leave little ash and do not produce much particulate matter when burned. They are only ecologically justifiable if they are made from waste products from wood processing and the wood actually comes from sustainable forestry. For a good CO₂ balance, they should be used as close as possible to the region in which they were produced.

Pellet fuels (or pellets) are a type of solid fuel made from compressed organic material. Pellets can be made from any one of five general categories of biomass: industrial waste and co-products, food waste, agricultural residues, energy crops, and untreated lumber.
Wood pellets are the most common type of pellet fuel and are generally made from compacted sawdust and related industrial wastes from the milling of lumber. Manufacture of wood products and furniture, and construction. Other industrial waste sources include empty fruit bunches, palm kernel shells, coconut shells, and tree tops and branches discarded during logging operations.
So-called “black pellets” are made of biomass, refined to resemble hard coal and were developed to be used in existing coal-fired power plants. Pellets are categorized by their heating value, moisture and ash content, and dimensions. They can be used as fuels for power generation, commercial or residential heating, and cooking.
- 100% hardwood waste materials
- Manufactured with no additives
- onsistent pellet size (6mm)
- Low ash content (less than .50%)
- Ultra-high heat (greater than 320k BTU’s/bag)
1Heiz Premium Wood Pellets
1Heiz Pellets extremely dense and can be produced with a low moisture content (below 10%) that allows them to be burned with a very high combustion efficiency. Further, their regular geometry and small size allow automatic feeding with very fine calibration. They can be fed to a burner by auger feeding or by pneumatic conveying. Their high density also permits compact storage and transport over long distance. They can be conveniently blown from a tanker to a storage bunker or silo on a customer’s premises.
A broad range of pellet stoves, central heating furnaces, and other heating appliances have been developed and marketed since the mid-1980s. With the surge in the price of fossil fuels since 2005, the demand for pellet heating has increased in Europe and North America, and a sizable industry is emerging. According to the International Energy Agency Task 40, wood pellet production has more than doubled since 2010 to over 14 million tons. Biomass Energy Resource Center says that it expects wood pellet production in North America to double again in the next five years.
Wood Pellets Suppliers
Pellet suppliers usually supply pellets in two different ways: as loose goods with silo trucks or in bags on pallets. Loose pellets are blown into the warehouse at the customer’s site via a hose. Depending on the quantity, this process can take some time, as the pellets should be moved as gently as possible. Bagged pellets – referred to as bagged goods – come in 15 kg bags, which are packed together on a pallet weighing 900 to 1050 kg and are often only placed at the property boundary by the pellet suppliers.

ARE MY PELLETS ENPLUS A1 ACCREDITED?
All pellets that we sell, authorised by the Biomass Supplier’s list. This means that our pellets meet the sustainability criteria to be eligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
Our pellets are held to an EN Plus A1 standard, which means they can be used in domestic boilers and stoves. Thus, they are quality checked throughout the production and distribution process to ensure that you are getting a pellet that will perform well in your appliance and produce the least amount of ash possible.
WHAT’S THE CALORIFIC VALUE OF MY PELLETS?
Generally, 1kg of pellets produces at least 4.5 kilowatt-hours of energy, giving them a calorific value of 4.5 kWh/kg and above. Across the board, most pellets have a similar calorific value, so it doesn’t make much of a difference to their performance. The main thing you need to know is the drier the pellet, the better – all our pellets have a moisture content of 10% or less.
DO THEY HAVE A LOW ASH CONTENT?
All our pellets dust extracted to ensure optimum performance and the minimal ash content ensures domestic appliances require less maintenance and clearing out. Hence, making them a convenient and clean option. The EN Plus A1 standard ensures our pellets have an ash content of 1% or less.
WHAT TYPE OF WOOD ARE PELLETS MADE FROM?
All pellets are made from pine and spruce softwoods – they are just as good hardwood pellets on the market. Therefore, offering the clean burn and high calorific output that is necessary for heating homes and cooking pizzas! The pellets are made from sawdust that is a by-product of virgin softwoods used in the timber industry. This ensures all wood waste is used up instead of thrown away.
ARE THEY ADDITIVE FREE?
Yes – all our pellets are free of chemical additives and do not contain binding agents. However, they keep their shape by being compressed, which binds the wood fibres together and forms a high-density wood pellet. This means they are safe to use in pizza ovens.
The only input is waste sawdust and offcuts – no whole trees whatsoever, converting millions of tons of potential landfill waste into energy.
